 Beautiful glass, but will not last the longest June 14, 2010

These are beautiful glasses, but in the end, aren't really the best value. Because the design is more of a square with rounded corners, the glass itself doesn't end up being strong and over the course of a few or several years, they will break one by one, even when you're simply washing them in the sink. I had bought a set of 8 in 2005 and I have only 1 left.
What did I replace these with? The Luigi Bormioli Lucia. The Lucia glasses are completely circular and will likely not break unless dropped on the floor. Just a better design.

Received my glasses the other day. I was pleased to see that perhaps Amazon has fixed the packing problem that others have mentioned. Mine came packed box within a box. In addition, the box of the glasses was wrapped in bubble wrap. All four arrived safe and sound. Lovely glasses, rounded square shape, beautiful addition to our house.

While the glasses are nice the packaging was so substandard the two usable glasses end up costing you twice what you think you're paying. Or your other option is to return them and start the process over again. Either way it adds up to a time consuming and expensive process. There was no visible damage to shipping packaging yet they were packed so poorly that two of them were broken. I was hesitant to purchase glassware online for just this reason and only did it because it was Amazon.

Not much other than these are nice, heavy glasses without a lot of embellishment. We like them, they arrived in good shape even though I SAW the UPS driver DROP the box they were packed in from waist height and KICK the box through the partially opened garage door. If they can withstand UPS, I'm not worried about breaking them in the dishwasher.

Well let's see - besides holding liquid quite well, they have an additional side benefit as an excersise tool. They are heavy, so be sure and switch which arm you use to lift your drink with every once in a while. Seriously though - they are fine, I wanted a simple "squarish" glass but did not notice that these do not stack. Perhaps a little over priced as well, but considering the excersise benefit, maybe not. Fast shipping.
