Product Description The Soiree is a wine accessory that fits into any standard corked wine bottle, and comes with an extra gasket that will work with any screw cap bottle; allowing you to pour, without dripping, directly through the Soiree. Once you place the Soiree in the wine bottle, the Soiree aerates your wine as you pour it. The Soiree allows you to decant just the portion of wine you want - a glass or a carafe. The Soiree can also be used to pour the wine into a decanter, further expediting the "opening" of your wine. The Soiree has dimples in the glass increasing the surface area of the glass which not only agitate the wine, but infuse more oxygen in the wine.
Soiree is a bottle-top wine aerator.
Soiree fits securely into any wine bottle allowing you to pour, without dripping directly through the Soiree. By pouring wine with a Soiree, the Soiree creates an intermediary stage where the wine is infused with oxygen and then cascades into your glass. In using the Soiree to aerate your wine, you will notice the subtleties and character of the wine emerge immediately upon entering your glass. Soiree delivers a truly "open" wine just by pouring through it!

On the fence! July 14, 2010 D. Romano Can't really decide if this product does what it says or not. Very interesting looking and creates conversations but not sure how well it works - not convinced.
Bought it as a gift...now I am going to buy it for me!!!! June 26, 2010 Rhonda Williams (Temecula, CA United States) I bought this item as a gift for a friend. She received 2 aerators, the Soiree from me and the Vinturi from her parents, so we decided to do a side by side taste test to compare. The soiree won hands down, and the Vinturi was returned! We all agreed that the Soiree did a fabulous job of opening up the wine, much better than the Vinturi. The only fear on my friend's part was that it is made of glass and not acrylic, and she is not kind to glass and was convinced that she would break it---well so far so good, it is still intact. I have since broken my beautiful Wine Enthusiast decanter, so am going to replace it with the Soiree---was just waiting for an excuse to buy it---and here it is!
Soiree - poor product June 13, 2010 Kay Byrd (New Orleans, La) The Soiree bottle - top wine Decanter & aerator-- The first time it was used it fell out and broke. This happened with the second glass of wine. I had to serve the rest of the wine to my guest without using an Aerator. I will not purchase it again. I have found that there are better much Wine Aerators available.
Who knows if it works June 7, 2010 philyodaddy (New York, NY) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like it, I have no idea if it is actually doing anything, but it is cool. I know that is not a very sophisticated review, but I have yet to do any blind testing, so I will not possibly attempt to quantify its results.
One negative would be that cleaning it is kind of annoying/ineffective. I feel like you would need a special tool to clean the inside. It says Dishwasher safe but not recommended. Can someone please make a dishwasher safe version of everything (I'm looking at you Riedel)? Is this too much to ask for? I hate doing dishes.
fun gizmo May 6, 2010 S. Sung I bought this for my husband who is the wine drinker in the family--he can never be bothered to use a decanter. The aerator is pretty and fun to watch but can be a little precarious when handling. You have to be careful that it is securely in place in the bottle top of course. I bought it liking that it was made out of glass and not plastic which I thought would help the taste of the wine. I have to say we hold our breathe handling it because it seems pretty fragile. It is a bit difficult to store it because it is glass. The aerator does come with a little stand that it sits in but it is easy to knock it off and there is nowhere to put the rubber stoppers that would make the aerator fit correctly so I end up putting it all back in the box...which makes us use it less frequently. I bought the Venturi with the stand and that tends to be the one we go to since it is already sitting out and ready for action. Happy with the product though
