Godinger's Shannon Collection of crystal looks at home in both traditional and contemporary settings. The 24-percent lead crystal is cut with a classic Irish diamond and wedge patterning that sparkles luxuriously. The Dublin whiskey set features four crystal 3-1/2-by-3-1/4-inch double old-fashioned glasses, and a 10-3/4-inch square crystal decanter with a starburst-cut ball stopper. Holding everything together with room enough for an ice bucket is an expansive 18-3/4-by-14-1/4-inch tray with rounded corners, silver-plated and polished to a mirror shine. Like all fine crystal and silver-plate, the items in this set should be washed by hand in warm soapy water, then carefully dried with a soft cloth to prevent spotting. I hardly drink, but I do want something nice to have at the house for in case friends who do drink visit, so I got this whiskey set.
All the glass elements are very sturdy and heavy.
However, as I set the glasses down on the tray (bottoms up), I accidentally clipped the lip on one of the glasses on the butt of another, and it chipped a small bit.
I didn't hit it hard, so as heady as they are, the glasses aren't very sturdy.
The designs are very nice, and I love the stopper - extra thick and heavy, like a cue ball (and so would make a fine improvisational weapon if you were caught in a "James Bond" moment ;]).
The silver tray is also thick and heavy, but doesn't have the same look and quality with the glassware, (mine came with a few small permanently splotches) so it doesn't seem to go well together. But it's included, and I'll take it.
Overall, a fine set for those who don't want to break the bank yet still have something nice to store and drink their liquid in.

This decanter set is very nice. It has good weight and has a nice design, exactly what I needed and a great value.
HOWEVER, it took me three attempts to get one that didn't have dents in the tray. The six piece set includes the decanter, 4 glasses, the stopper and the a silver tray. The way the manufacturer packaged the box, they put the tray on the outside of the box. Even though Amazon overboxes the product, it still gets bumped around during shipping and the tray will have multiple dents when you take it out. The manufacturer really needs to package this better (although which would you rather have break, crystal or a tin tray?). On the third replacement, Amazon packaged it with air pillows around all sides and it was fine.
Great product, bad packaging. 3 stars, would be 5 if I didn't have to order it 3 times.

All of these Godinger decanters are good quality and attractive. This is an especially good buy because of the glasses, which are nice, heavy-weight, double old-fashioneds. The round, all glass, well-fitted stopper gives some oomph to the design. Very nice and worth the money. This even came with a silver tray. I'm about to buy a second set so that I'll have 12 glasses and four (all Godinger from Amazon) decanters.

I have the "original" Irish crystal version of this decanter (Thank you, Sheryl.), and, yes, side by side no one is going to confuse one for the other, but from one room to the next, anyone would be hard pressed to discern anything that belies the $250 difference...! Kudos to Slovenia!

This arrived relatively quickly, with absolutely no pieces marred in any way. These glasses and decanter are of a heavy weight and have a nice design on them. My husband was thrilled to get them for Christmas '09. The tray is not horrible, but it doesnt fit in with the finer look of the set. It looks too 'fake' I guess I would say. We just dont use it. It is a good price for a set of Godinger. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a set that is not too cheap, but that cannot afford one for a couple hundred dollars. Great quality for the price.
